Texas Oral Health Coalition

The Texas Oral Health Coalition (TxOHC) is a statewide collaborative dedicated to advancing oral health as an essential part of overall health. As a coalition led by the Texas Health Institute (THI), the brand needed to feel connected to its parent organization while establishing a distinct identity of its own.

The Challenge

Many oral health organizations rely heavily on dental imagery, creating a narrow perception of their work. TxOHC wanted to move beyond teeth and smiles to communicate a broader, collaborative approach to health. The brand also needed to align with the visual ecosystem of Texas Health Institute and the Texas Primary Care Consortium while remaining recognizable as its own entity.

The Solution

I developed a brand strategy centered around collaboration, accessibility, trust, and forward progress. The visual identity uses rounded geometric forms and interconnected shapes to represent diverse stakeholders coming together to create meaningful change. The icon was designed to symbolize both collective partnership and upward momentum, reflecting the coalition's role in advancing health outcomes across Texas.

The color palette builds on the credibility of healthcare branding while introducing a fresh mint and blue combination that complements existing THI brands. Typography and visual systems were selected for clarity, accessibility, and approachability, ensuring the brand feels professional, inclusive, and future-focused.
